Destination wedding in Tuscany, Italy
Sofie & Jarred’s destination wedding at Villa di Ulignano
My first real experience of being a second shooter took place in the setting of a destination wedding in Italy. It was one of those experiences that make you want to do more. It was absolutely amazing to have the opportunity to join in with lovely Swedish/Australian photographer Angelica, as she worked with Sofie & Jarred at the spectacular Villa di Ulignano, just outside Volterra. Thanks to my dear Anna at Rental Stories, who coordinated and decorated the weekend, I had the opportunity to be part of the team and see the day unfold from a second perspective.
One of the high lights from this Australian destination wedding was the intro to the garden ceremony. Groom Jarred walked down the stairs to Circle of Life, followed by Sofie and her two dads. The gelato van was surely appreciated by all the guests and I had so much goose bumps as the newly weds enjoyed their first dance to “Right here, right now” by Agnes (note the intense singing pictures!) 🙂
My trip to Italy was nothing but unforgettable to me. To drive through Tuscany, eat all the foods you love and be part of not only one but two (!) weddings in one weekend was awesome. Me and Anna ended the week with a holiday to Cinque Terre Manarola and I will post images from both the holiday and my first vineyard wedding in the Chianti area shortly.
I wonder if you are able to see any difference from these images to my other weddings? It felt very different being on the side line and observing the day unfold with no real strings attached. It was such a creative experience, as many of my fellow colleagues have testified to.
